After vampires have taken over humanity, an event referred to as the Uprising, monthly sacrifices are demanded from each city to keep the humans in line and remind them that they are prey and nothing more.

Markus is a five-hundred-year-old vampire bored of humans and all of their whining and cowering. When his eyes land on the smallest human in the room, he scoffs at first, but Taron turns out to be far more than he expected. Markus finds the boy so alluring that he ends up doing things with him that could get him banished from the nest. He's obviously taken an interest in the small human with the hair like wildfire. The only question is, will it be enough to keep Taron alive?

It's so short so the story is over before it really starts. It's a slightly longer version of the teaser.
This is pretty good, but it's really short, shorter even than it appears because it ends at 55% and the rest is a preview of something else. Which is too bad because more of this would have been good.
